Thompson's Angling Adventures

Howard Thompson is an avid fly-fisherman. He is dedicated to sharing his skills and experience with all who wish to learn the technique of fly-fishing and want to experience the fulfillment of this great sport. He offers a quality guiding and instructional experience for all fisher persons who seek to develop effective skills and knowledge in the area of fly-casting and fly-fishing for wild trout.

Howard has over forty years of fly-fishing experience, of which 25 years have been in the capacity of a licensed outfitter and guide in southwest Montana. In addition to a vast amount of knowledge and experience, his most useful assets are a style of abundant patience and encouragement for the learner. He remembers very well his own learning experience and will use that knowledge to develop your skills and enhance your success.

He also has vast experience as a river man and boat handler. Howard’s primary concern is your safety and well being, in addition to having fun and a rewarding day of fishing!

Thompson's Angling also offers world class lunches.  Howard’s wife Kathy, former owner of “Kathy’s Wild Rose”, does an outstanding job making homemade sandwiches, fresh fruit or bean salad, and world famous black-bottom cupcakes.  All of this is served on a portable table and chairs next to the river with breathtaking panoramic views.  It just doesn’t get any better than this!!
